Plus One Party

Fri at 10pm · New York
Come join me at Mirari for a night of drinks, dancing, and meeting someone new! This Plus One Party requires each person to bring a plus one you think no one else has met yet. Feel free to bring as many people you want; come one, come all! But every familiar face must be accompanied by a new one. Your RSVP to this invite will be your free admission to the party. All guests must arrive BEFORE 12:00 AM, doors open at 10:00 PM. Please no shorts or athletic wear. Ideas for finding your plus one: - hinge - your hot coworker - instagram DMs - your hot friends tagged posts (hot ppl are friends with hot ppl) - your elevator crush - your gym eye-contact-situationship - your window neighbor (invite them with a poster through your window Taylor Swift “You Belong With Me” music video style) - that unsaved number in your phone from last weekend who’s name you didn’t save and only identifying clue you have is that they “had fun last night”

Let's paint the rocky mountains.... Everyone bring one rock

Sat at 1pm · prospect park or central park
An event, a gathering, a "party." First ever Lindsey rock-painting hangout. A not-to-be missed event. So cancel all your other plans and obligations accordingly and come on over. Bring your family and friends. Bring your grandparents and kids. Bring your annoying cousin with a flock of seagulls haircut that is tearing your neighborhood apart. And come over for a good time with rock painting. Humans have long painted rocks or portable stones for storytelling, symbols, or ritual meaning, for tens of thousands of years. You bring the rock, everything else will be provided. There will be paint and brushes. There might even be cheese. Nothing says a good ol time like a big cheese log. There will be music and good beats, and absolutely no pressure from me whatsoever to dance...And to those who are tempted to say "Lindsey," (or "Linds," depending on how close we are), "how do we know you will be there?" Guess what??? I will be there, because guess what??? I am the host of this event. And guess what??? I really really like rock painting so I'm 100% going to be there and I hope you will be too.

Meet a New Neighborhood Food Tour: Williamsburg

Tue, Aug 25 at 6pm · Brooklyn
New York City is home to 350 neighborhoods and, even if you’re a local, you probably haven’t been to most of them. Let’s change that: come Meet a New Neighborhood on a food tour of Williamsburg. Meet a New Neighborhood tours are food tours by locals, for locals. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, we go to a different area in the outer boroughs and spend 90 minutes exploring three food stops to illuminate the area’s history and present culture. Neighborhoods aren't the only thing you meet on these experiences, though. Our tours begin with a happy hour so you can mingle with other New Yorkers wanting to learn more about their city. And if you hit it off with people during the tour, we end by walking over to a dessert stop so you can continue the local food adventures with your new friends. Meet a New Neighborhood food tours are a way to experience New York and meet New Yorkers offline, seeing the city and its people with your own eyes rather than through a screen. Whether you've lived here for decades or moved from elsewhere a week ago, visiting a new neighborhood with us will help you meet and eat a new side of New York. This week, we're visiting Williamsburg, one of the city's most rapidly changing areas, to traverse our way through the current mecca of New York slice shops. We'll visit three different pizzerias, each with their own style of slice, and chat about both how New York pizza developed and why Williamsburg become the home for a 21st century dough-fueled renaissance. Meet a New Neighborhood food tours cost $50. Your ticket includes a 90-minute tour with three included food stops, plus opportunities at a happy hour and dessert stop to mingle with other guests (drinks, dessert, and guide gratuities are not included with the ticket price). The tours are presented by NYC Unscripted, a local tour company run by licensed expert local foodie guides and writers.

Time to get outside and make something Let's enjoy summer the right way: outside, with art supplies, good people, and no agenda. This is your excuse to ditch your screens, slow down, and find time to be creative. This is not about being good at art. This is about finding time to make something, enjoying nature, and community. Bring a friend or make a new one! We Bring: 🌳 A picnic setup in the park Blankets, fresh air, a cute playlist (if you don’t like the music, blame it on Spotify) 🎨 Communal Art supplies Everything you need to get started - paper, pencils, pastels, watercolors, and more You Bring: ✨Yourself All levels are welcome, from beginners to professionals ☀️ Weather Gear Please bring sunscreen, coats, or whatever else Mother Nature is demanding of us 🥤 Snacks + drinks Bring anything you want to nibble on or sip 🖼️ Your own project if you have one If you’re working on something, please bring it! This beats making something alone in a dark room The Logistics How to Find Us Don’t want to walk up sheepishly to the wrong picnic blanket? Before the event, we'll send all attendees a message with our exact location within the park. Look for the blankets, the art supplies, and the people who look very happy to be outside. Weather This is an outdoor event, so we're at the mercy of the NYC sky. If the weather is looking rough, we'll make a call by the night before and notify all attendees.

Salon No.1

Sat, Aug 15 at 8pm · Brooklyn
St. Gloria presents Salon No. 01 An evening where live music, design, film, and conversation converge. Inspired by the spirit of the modern flapper, not as a costume, but as a state of mind: curious, expressive, stylish, and unapologetically creative. This salon is an invitation to step into another era while imagining a new one. Throughout the night, our house band, featuring some of NYC’s finest jazz musicians, will soundtrack the evening as guests move through immersive fabric installations, curated film, and intimate performances. This is not a spectator event. It is a participatory salon. Dress is part of the experience. Conversation is part of the performance. Strict dress theme (mandatory): Modern Flapper. Think contemporary interpretations of 1920s glamour through tailoring, fringe, pearls, velvet, lace, silk, sharp suiting, and bold individuality. Come dressed to become part of the world we’re creating.

Lit Out Loud Presents: Here is New York

Wed, Aug 26 at 8pm · New York
“Here is New York” was written by E.B. White during a hot spell in 1948. What better time than the heat of summer to revisit his eternally relevant reflections on who and what makes NYC the city it is?! Join Lit Out Loud, the city’s newest live reading series and creative community, for a live narration of Here Is New York — read aloud by Mark Sanderlin, an Audie Award–winning narrator (think, the Oscars of audiobook narration). Written in 1948, Here Is New York is part essay, part love letter, and part time capsule. White captures the city’s essence with observations that feel just as true today as they did over 75 years ago. Whether you’re a lifelong New Yorker, a recent transplant, or just endlessly fascinated by this place, this is a chance to experience a classic in the most fitting setting. Come grab a drink, settle in, and listen to a talented New York narrator bring this classic New York essay to life. No prep required—just bring yourself and your love of good stories.

Breathwork for somatic & emotional release 08/15

Sat, Aug 15 at 11:45am · New York
Most of us have spent years trying to think our way out of pain and suffering that lives in the body. No matter how self-aware we become through talk therapy and introspection, we can still feel stuck if we neglect our body. Instead of starting with the story, Facilitated Breath Repatterning (FBR) addresses the nervous system directly. Connected breathwork shifts your physiology, allowing for subconscious emotional and somatic processing, release, and discovery, much like a therapeutic psychedelic journey. FBR is different from other breathwork modalities such as Holotropic or Wim Hof as it’s a lot less strenuous and centered around therapeutic touch, which can create deeper release and nervous system change. The circles tend to be smaller and more intimate, usually with multiple trauma-informed facilitators who trained in the same lineage in Bali. Sessions tend to be surprising — big emotions can come up, the body can unwind old trauma, or sometimes it is quiet and restorative. Each journey looks different, but most people report a sense of coming home to themselves through their breath. All of it is welcome and no prior experience with breathwork is necessary.
