Update: this is officially becoming a monthly thing. The first one got so big we ran out of blanket space. Everyone walked away with full hearts and a little sunburnt.
I'm still new to the Bay, and this is still the most extroverted thing an introvert can dream up: inviting a pile of strangers to come sit in the grass with me. My social battery is finite. My love of people, picnics, and the specific magic of introducing two people who end up becoming real friends is not. So here I am again, being brave, inviting you to Mission Dolores Park.
Bring your own picnic setup: a blanket, drinks, snacks, whatever makes sitting in the grass feel a little luxurious.
I'll either be the redhead having a solo picnic reading something objectively terrible on Kindle Unlimited, or the redhead surrounded by people looking a little overwhelmed because this happened again.
Athena, my dog, will be there too, asking you to throw her ball or slip her a snack. She has no shame about it.

I’m new to organizing this and thought it be fun to have the surf equivalent of a run club. Let’s meet at Soul Grind in Pacifica at 9:30. Everyone welcome!
No experience required! If you’ve never surfed before I can give you tips and you can rent gear at the surf shop next to the coffee shop for ~$30!
Schedule:
- 9:30-10: meet at Soul Grind Coffee Roasters. Get coffee and chat!
- 9:30-9:50: If anyone needs to rent a surfboard or wetsuit, go next door to NorCal surf shop or Traveler surf shop. NorCal is cheaper but Traveler is better quality and women owned. Once you get your gear meet back outside Soul Grind with your stuff. At this point you can be wearing your wetsuit or put it on at the beach.
- 10:00: We’ll walk over from Soul Grind to the beach. I’m planning to set up camp near the creek.
- 10-10:15: I can give tips to anyone who needs it!
- 10:15-11: free surf! Then everyone leaves on their own time.

Welcome to the inaugural meeting of the Paper Trail Book Club, where we aim to enjoy the natural beauty that the Bay Area has to offer while getting to discuss some of our favorite books!
For our first meeting, feel free to discuss any book that you've been reading recently and bring suggestions for what next month's book should be. We'll vote on it at the end!
Our first hike will be at Las Trampas Peak. Known for stunning views, this hike is rated as moderate and runs just around 4.5 miles with slightly over 1000 feet in elevation gain. The full details can be found in the AllTrails link above. The parking lot here is free and we encourage as many people to carpool as possible.
IMPORTANT: Please try to arrive as close to the hour as possible to allow time to sign an activity waiver. All hikers must have one signed to participate.
Paper Trail Book Club is a safe space that aims to provide a solace for bookworms and hikers of all backgrounds. Anyone engaging in misogynistic, racist, homophobic, or any sort of bigoted conduct will be asked to leave and will not be welcome to join us for future activities.

Ronnie Blaze Band is an iconic San Francisco band. Following the end of the pandemic, Ronnie Blaze emerged onto the San Francisco Bay Area club and open mic circuit. Happily paying his dues in half empty dive bars and supper clubs as a sideman to Mike Dingle and his Third Thursday Band, he marinated in one of Rock and Roll’s most storied cities. These experiences have left him well seasoned and hungry to prove himself, which he does on his debut single named after that city by the bay: San Francisco.
This show is also commemorating Dane’s release of their first song- Between Me and The High.

This time we’re heading to Karma Cafe, a cozy café known for going all-in on seasonal decorations, including Halloween 👻. They’ve also offered pumpkin spice and other seasonal drinks in past fall seasons, so whether you’re a matcha person, coffee person, or just want something sweet, there should be plenty to choose from.
We’ll grab our drinks, hang out at the café for a bit, and then walk over to the Panhandle 🌳. Once we’re there, we’ll go with the group’s vibe and either pull out conversation cards to get to know each other better or play some board games together. I’m new to organizing this and thought it be fun to have the surf equivalent of a run club. Let’s meet at Soul Grind in Pacifica at 9:30. Everyone welcome!
No experience required! If you’ve never surfed before I can give you tips and you can rent gear at the surf shop next to the coffee shop for ~$30!
Schedule:
- 9:30-10: meet at Soul Grind Coffee Roasters. Get coffee and chat!
- 9:30-9:50: If anyone needs to rent a surfboard or wetsuit, go next door to NorCal surf shop or Traveler surf shop. NorCal is cheaper but Traveler is better quality and women owned. Once you get your gear meet back outside Soul Grind with your stuff. At this point you can be wearing your wetsuit or put it on at the beach.
- 10:00: We’ll walk over from Soul Grind to the beach. I’m planning to set up camp near the creek.
- 10-10:15: I can give tips to anyone who needs it!

🇮🇪 Have you ever been moved by the sound of real Irish music and just felt like dancing? There’s an exciting new Irish partner dancing event in San Francisco, combining welcoming lessons with the joy of dancing to live music.
📆 We meet on the second Sunday of every month. (For certain holidays, we move to the 1st or 3rd Sunday; check this page for details.)
🗣️ At 5:00pm (SHARP!), we begin with clear, supportive instruction designed to bring brand-new dancers comfortably onto the floor.
💃 At 6:00pm, once everyone is moving, we transition to dancing to live traditional Irish music played by a rotating cast of musicians who bring energy, lift, and variety to each evening.
🎻 Tonight’s live band will be Ceol Sa Cheo!
This night is intentionally inclusive:
☘️ newcomers learning their first steps
☘️ experienced dancers enjoying the drive of live music
⏰ If you’ve never done Irish partner dance, make sure to arrive before 5pm so you don’t miss the start of the lesson. We squeeze a lot into an hour and nothing is taught after 6pm!

Make savory Chinese chive and egg pockets from scratch, from mixing the filling, to stuffing and pleating each pocket before baking until golden. Along the way, we’ll make a bright, crunchy Chinese-style quick pickle with cucumber and daikon to enjoy alongside our delicious pan-fried pockets.
Seasonal fruit, homemade soy milk, and tea will be served throughout class.
