Make a Friend Picnic - Dolores Park
Sat, Sep 12 at 12:30pm
· San Francisco
Update: this is officially becoming a monthly thing. The first one got so big we ran out of blanket space. Everyone walked away with full hearts and a little sunburnt. I'm still new to the Bay, and this is still the most extroverted thing an introvert can dream up: inviting a pile of strangers to come sit in the grass with me. My social battery is finite. My love of people, picnics, and the specific magic of introducing two people who end up becoming real friends is not. So here I am again, being brave, inviting you to Mission Dolores Park. Bring your own picnic setup: a blanket, drinks, snacks, whatever makes sitting in the grass feel a little luxurious. I'll either be the redhead having a solo picnic reading something objectively terrible on Kindle Unlimited, or the redhead surrounded by people looking a little overwhelmed because this happened again. Athena, my dog, will be there too, asking you to throw her ball or slip her a snack. She has no shame about it. Either way, come say hi.

Dane + The Ronnie Blaze Band @ The Faight
Sat at 7pm
· San Francisco
Party people!!! 🍷🎉💗 We have a very special show for you on Saturday, September 5th at the Faight Collective 🧡 Dane plays heartfelt alternative pop-rock, drawing inspiration from confessional lyricists like Lana Del Rey and sonic inspiration from bands like Mazzy Star. Ronnie Blaze Band is an iconic San Francisco band. Following the end of the pandemic, Ronnie Blaze emerged onto the San Francisco Bay Area club and open mic circuit. Happily paying his dues in half empty dive bars and supper clubs as a sideman to Mike Dingle and his Third Thursday Band, he marinated in one of Rock and Roll’s most storied cities. These experiences have left him well seasoned and hungry to prove himself, which he does on his debut single named after that city by the bay: San Francisco. This show is also commemorating Dane’s release of their first song- Between Me and The High. Be there, bring friends and be ready to PARTY!!! LOVE U 💥

Everyone is NOBODY 🫥. Wear a bedsheet 🛏️ — it's a toga now. 🏛️ Reach Ithaca 🏝️ Then we cold plunge 🧊🥶, because 13.1 miles later our bodies are Trojan-horse-d 🐴 and freezing water is the only dignified response. 🫡 🏛️ 13.1 miles · 🩹 Toga encouraged · 🔱 Poseidon is a dude we're hiring to chase you · ⚰️

Matcha Society: Halloween Edition🎃🍵
Sat, Oct 24 at 1pm
· San Francisco
Spooky season calls for a slightly different Matcha Society meetup 🎃🍵 This time we’re heading to Karma Cafe, a cozy café known for going all-in on seasonal decorations, including Halloween 👻. They’ve also offered pumpkin spice and other seasonal drinks in past fall seasons, so whether you’re a matcha person, coffee person, or just want something sweet, there should be plenty to choose from. We’ll grab our drinks, hang out at the café for a bit, and then walk over to the Panhandle 🌳. Once we’re there, we’ll go with the group’s vibe and either pull out conversation cards to get to know each other better or play some board games together. You’re also welcome to bring a book, draw, journal, take photos, or just relax with everyone. And because it’s Halloween, come dressed up! 🎃 It can be a full costume, something silly, spooky makeup, cat ears, or even just a small Halloween accessory. No need to go all out unless you want to. Come alone or bring a friend. The whole point is to spend a cozy October Saturday meeting people over something good to drink. 👻✨

· Oakland
Come witness the beauty of love, healing, vulnerability, & the becoming of XtarmystiK Featuring special performances by : ✨🌸• SaLanea • Natalie Ford•Summertimeky•🌸✨ STARCHILD is more than my first EP. It is proof that I made it through everything that was supposed to break me. There were moments in my journey when I didn’t know where my entire foundation was unstable, moments of survival, moments when giving up felt easier than continuing. But through every chapter, I kept chasing this dream, with my baby right beside me, reminding me why I couldn’t stop. And now, after everything… I’m finally releasing my first project. This listening party is a celebration of survival, purpose, motherhood, music, and becoming the person I always knew I could be. I want you there not just to hear the music, but to experience the moment with me, because you are witnessing the beginning of something I believe will become BIG. One day, I’ll look back at this night and remember the people who showed up before the world knew my name. So if you’re reading this and considering coming, please understand how much your presence means to me. Every ticket, every person in the room, every bit of love and support is a part of this chapter. STARCHILD is only the beginning. Come celebrate this moment with me. Come hear the story. Come witness the beginning. With love & gratitude, XtarmystiK 💫

· Pacifica
Casual beginner surf group in Pacifica! Hi everyone! I’m just a girl who lives in north beach looking for some more friends to surf with! ig: @graceclendenin I’m new to organizing this and thought it be fun to have the surf equivalent of a run club. Let’s meet at Soul Grind in Pacifica at 9:30. Everyone welcome! No experience required! If you’ve never surfed before I can give you tips and you can rent gear at the surf shop next to the coffee shop for ~$30! Schedule: - 9:30-10: meet at Soul Grind Coffee Roasters. Get coffee and chat! - 9:30-9:50: If anyone needs to rent a surfboard or wetsuit, go next door to NorCal surf shop or Traveler surf shop. NorCal is cheaper but Traveler is better quality and women owned. Once you get your gear meet back outside Soul Grind with your stuff. At this point you can be wearing your wetsuit or put it on at the beach. - 10:00: We’ll walk over from Soul Grind to the beach. I’m planning to set up camp near the creek. - 10-10:15: I can give tips to anyone who needs it! - 10:15-11: free surf! Then everyone leaves on their own time.

A Very Odysserious Run
Sat, Sep 19 at 9:30am
· San Francisco
13.1 miles home. give or take ten years. ⏳ You won a war ⚔️🐴. Achilles you're not, but by the gods you're going to jog all 13.1 miles 🏃♂️💨 home. One problem: Poseidon 🔱🌊 is chasing you on foot, personally furious, trident in hand, cardio unfairly good. This is nothing per-sea-nal 🌊. It's extremely per-sea-nal. 😤 You are NOBODY 🫥.

Second Sundays Irish Partner Dance Class & Social (September 13)
Next Sun at 4:45pm
· San Francisco
🚨‼️ IMPORTANT: Beginning in September, these events are moving to the SECOND SUNDAYS of the month, with occasional exceptions for holidays, and start ONE HOUR EARLIER (5-9pm). Please update your calendars. ‼️🚨 🇮🇪 Have you ever been moved by the sound of real Irish music and just felt like dancing? There’s an exciting new Irish partner dancing event in San Francisco, combining welcoming lessons with the joy of dancing to live music. 📆 We meet on the second Sunday of every month. (For certain holidays, we move to the 1st or 3rd Sunday; check this page for details.) 🗣️ At 5:00pm (SHARP!), we begin with clear, supportive instruction designed to bring brand-new dancers comfortably onto the floor. 💃 At 6:00pm, once everyone is moving, we transition to dancing to live traditional Irish music played by a rotating cast of musicians who bring energy, lift, and variety to each evening. 🎻 Tonight’s live band will be Ceol Sa Cheo! This night is intentionally inclusive: ☘️ newcomers learning their first steps ☘️ experienced dancers enjoying the drive of live music ⏰ If you’ve never done Irish partner dance, make sure to arrive before 5pm so you don’t miss the start of the lesson. We squeeze a lot into an hour and nothing is taught after 6pm! 👯 Come on your own or with friends. No partner required – we’ll form groups on the floor. 🅿️ Parking is VERY difficult in this neighborhood. Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to find a space (seriously). We recommend you carpool or take public transit instead. Check this space later in the month for details on what sets are being danced… 💰 Cost: $10+ requested donation to the musicians. Additional donations are graciously accepted and all go towards keeping our wonderful Irish music scene thriving in the Bay Area! 😢 Can’t make it this month? Sign up for next month, October 11th! https://partiful.com/e/PJ8k8sDsPxgHzkWSMkpD
